Cause Canada Rocky Mountain Marathon 2009
What a great day! A record number of racers took part in this years race. We hope we reached our goal to beat last years' record of $26,000 in pledges. Dr. Brown was a major sponsor again for this year's event. The staff took part in a little "team fun" at Canmore Ranche after the Race.

Kids Cancer Care Golf Tournament
On August 9, 2007 Dr. Brown took part in this very special fundraising event. Even in 14 degrees and pouring rain, the organizers did an awesome job of making sure golfers had a great day. $175,000 was raised to send children with cancer and their siblings to summer camp.

Cause Canada
Cause Canada is an International Relief and Development Organization working in West Africa and Central America. Some of their very worthwhile projects include primary health care, water and sanitation, reforestation and women's projects.
This is a favourite charity of Dr. Brown's and he sponsors the 4K Run/Walk at the "Cause Canada Rocky Mountain Half Marathon" held annually in Canmore.

Cause Canada Rocky Mountain Half Marathon 2006
The 2006 event was blessed with perfect temperatures and sunny skies. The route took competitors in the Half Marathon, 8K Run and 4K Run/Walk along the Bow River in Canmore, with breathless views of the Three Sisters Mountains. Our office had representatives in each of the three events, with Dr. Brown himself completing the 8K Run. (Not bad old timer!). The day proved to be an excellent team building experience while supporting this worthwhile charity.

Cause Canada Rocky Mountain Half Marathon 2007
Dr. Brown was happy to sponsor the 5K Run/Walk again at this years event, held on Sept 9 in Canmore. Our office took part...some running farther and faster than others! Supporters raised money to help empower communities and individuals in disadvantaged regions to overcome poverty and improve their quality of life.

School Field Trips
- School field trips are a very exciting event in our office. Duncan's team realize how important dental education is to a healthy smile.
- Our field trips are targeted to Grade 5 students. One half day is dedicated to helping our young people learn about orthodontics and dental care. Teachers, this is a positive addition to your curriculum!
- There are five information stations:
- Teeth in Motion by Dr. Brown
- Healthy Foods for Healthy Teeth
- Impressions and Models (Each child takes home a model of his/her finger)
- Keeping Them Clean!
- How Retainers are Made
We wish to express our gratitude for the many favorable comments we have received from teachers, students, and parents. We are happy to contribute to the education of young people in our community!

Kids Cancer Care Headshave
In June 2004, we organized the second Smilezone Headshave in support of Kid's Cancer. Dr. Brown, Dr. Whitestone, Dr. Bureau, Dr. Skulsky, Dr. Lim, and twenty-five of our patients and friends volunteered to shave their heads in support of this worthy charity. The Calgary Flames Mascot, Harvey the Hound, had the privilege of shaving off Duncan's dreadlocks! We were proud to raise $56,000 in support of the Kid's Cancer Care Foundation! Thanks to everyone who participated in this event.
